It turns out that I was mistaken. I thought I could play YouTube videos because I had played them the day before. But I was mistaken. I can't play any video's now. For IE, the video runs without issue.
For Firefox, initially won't run (screen said "sorry....."), but then it runs after disabling IDM Integration from within IDM Option setting (not from within firefox).

In essence, Adobe Flash Player (the usual suspect) is not implicated at all in this particular scenario. Instead, RealPlayer, its plug-in, and its configuration setting (unmentioned throughout) was the source and solution.
BTW, I use VideoLANC as plug-in and never considered that as a source and solution. In my case, it was strictly permissions for the defenses built around my browser.
