TS Files

Well, this is a weird one. Normally I am able to use TS files on Sony Vegas. I had one saved onto my external hard drive, that works perfectly on Sony Vegas. However, I downloaded another file, which is completely different. When I have Shark 007 installed, windows media player doesn't show me the moving picture (just the audio), and when I drag it to Vegas, only the audio pops up. Also, the first file I am talking about has a perfect thumbnail, whilst the file that's causing me problems has the default thumbnail.

Please help.

Loading a codec pack can cause al sorts of problems especially with mpeg 2 video files. If you really feel a codec is required then just donload an install the one you want not the whole package. I have used HD video editors and players since HD become widely available to the average user and I have never installed a third party codec. Incidently where did you download the troublesome file from?

Have you checked the file with MediaInfo
Often MediaInfo will be unable to show you the video stream information if that is corrupted. Or it may have something non-standard.
