I know little of this because I have never had this problem.
I did find some information that might help you understand your problem.

Just a question, what media do you use when playing movies?

What ShoTTas was asking is where is the movie trying to watch. On a DVD? HDD? Something else?

Is your Windows Media Player up-to-date, try to update your media player, there could be some problem on your codec that causes the error.
Or download-install VLC Player, where it recognizes many kinds of media with various extension files.
you can also keep if up-to-date or keep it as it is.
