Cannot Drag and Drop in Media Player 12 Windows 7

I cannot drag a song file in Media Player 12 in Windows 7. I could do this in XP, but not now in Windows 7 Media Player 12. I can click on a song file and drag it, but it goes soooooo slow. It would take me 10 mins for the song to end up in the album at the bottom of my albums list. Please help me. I know I can do a find album ingfo and then edit the song, but I dont want to do this. I just want to drag and drop songs. Any help would be appreciated. God bless. Ken.

    Hi,

Did u you try using Drag and Drop in "Safe Mode"? If not, then try to boot your system in "Safe Mode". Check if Drag and Drop option in Media Player works fine in Safe Mode or not.
This issue might be due to corruption in the Windows Media Player files. Has it ever work for you before? If it has work for you in the past, you might want to try a System Restore to the point that you know it is still working.

You can even refer to the article on the URL mentioned below for troubleshooting this issue:

    Hope this helps

    Hi Ken,

Glad to hear from you, I am always there to help people on this forum.

I am not sure what system model you have, but I can suggest you safe mode steps of dell system. Start your computer and start tapping F8 continuously. Highlight "Safe Mode" from Windows Advance Options and press enter. See if your computer works fine in Safe Mode.

Let me know if that worked for you.

Hi Debbie. I started my comp in Safe Mode !! However, the Windows Media Player would not open up. Other applicatins did, like Documents, or Word etc, but not the Media Player. Does this mean a problem. It all sounds a bit weird. Let me know. You are sooo cool. I look forwrd to hearing. Cheers. Ken.

    Hi ken,

Hope you doing fine? Thanks for the kind words :)

Try running the following Microsoft Fix IT's from the URL mentioned which could fix some issues with the Media Player: http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/

If possible try installing VLC media player or Real Player and check if these players also face the same issue or not.

Hi Debbie, thx for all the help. But the problem is still there. It looks like I'm stuck with it. Oh I wish I had that advance tag editor that XP and the old media player had. Never mind, I don't think I will try another player. I do have real Player free basic, and its ok, but not really as good as W Media Player. Take care. Thx again, and God bless. Ken.
