Windows 7: copying iTunes to win 7

hi, how do i copy all of my iTunes data/music onto my external Hard drive, then download iTunes (empty with no songs in it yet) on my new win 7 pc. and then copy my iTunes music from external HD to new iTunes ? i tried i couldn't seem to copy music to External HD. thanks a lot

Using "Windows Easy Transfer" to transfer your entire iTunes library has always worked just fine for me. When you re-load all your music on your new computer and bring it into iTunes, all your data (like play counts, date added, etc) will be in tact.
