Jerky staggering playback with DLNA media server and Sony Media Player

Sony Media Player DLNA Server problems
Sony Network Media Player SMP-N100.
Problem playback from shows recorded in Media Center staggers stutters.

TV is connected to Sony MediaPlayer and it seems to work fine streaming NetFlix and other videos from the internet direct. Just not able to play videos on my desktop PC.

My suspicion is that I do not have enough horsepower in the processor.
Is there any way around that? Can I stop things or free up things?
I have a Compaq / HP - AMD Athlon II X2 215 Processor 2.70 GHz and 3 Gig of Ram.
OS is Windows 7 64 bit. home premium - up to date with SP1.

I get a much better response when I use AirPlayIt and stream videos to my iPod or iPad on the same wifi. They work fine just stagger a bit if the PC is being used. I think AirPlayIt is running a bit more quickly than MediaPlayer!

Use a different DNLA server than MediaPlayer?

Well, no thanks to anyone in the forum, but here is the answer. I ran an Ethernet cable from my router to the box - and it works fine. I can even record one show and watch another which was recorded.

I thought I have a pretty fast wifi - and uncluttered channel - but this fixed it. You can get 50' of cable at Walmart for cheap.

Bye.

Wireless is inconsistent on it's best day, and some media may have a higher bitrate than can be transferred over wireless. The processor, as you figured out, has nothing to do with it and an Ethernet connection is ALWAYS better than wireless. Sorry I didn't see this sooner, and glad you got it worked out.
