    WMP 12 & Libraries.

Does windows 7 indexing have to be running for wmp 12 to monitor library folders?
I have added a folder to my laptop that has a large amount of music (mp3) files along with M3U playlists but as yet it has not appeared in media player playlists,it is in the MUSIC LIBRARY which is in the wmp monitored folders, has been a few days now so i would have thought it would have added them by now,can you rebuild the library manually or does the win7 indexing have to be running

    Many thanks steve

    Try this ,

    1. Click on Windows Start Button
    2. Select Computer from menu bar.
    3. In top, right-hand corner search box type .wmdb
    4. Delete all .wmdb files
    5. Open Media Player
    6. Hit F3 to update

    Hope this works :)

Try stopping all the services and then try it again.

    or

If all these steps suggested above doesnt work close WMP12 stop all running services and try to open : "C:\Users\"Your Username" \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player" and delete all the contained files (maybe copy them to another folder for a backup).

Afterwards open WMP 12 press F3 and the library index works how it is supposed to!
