Different Uses

There are several different ways to use this system:
No Password - no password is entered. The system will apply its own password. This means that anyone who runs this program can view the JPEG images but they will not be able to view the images using a standard browser.
Password - a password is entered. This means that you will only be able to view the JPEG images after you enter the correct password.
Several Passwords - different passwords are applied to encrypt different JPEG images. You will have keep track of the passwords that were used to encrypt the images. This is a useful feature if different people are using the same computer. Each person can have their own folder and their own password.
Security

There are 2 basic security features to this system:
Encryption - the JPEG images are encrypted using your own password. This is a very secure encryption system and is virtually an unbreakable encryption code. If anyone tries to decrypt the images without the password they will be unsuccessful.
XXX File Extension - the JPEG images are all set to a file extension of .XXX. This basically hides all of your JPEG images from file searches from the unknowning (your children, your boss, the police, your wife, a hacker, etc.).
Step-By-Step Procedures

When you first start the JpegGuard program it will display the Password Form. You must enter a password that will be used to encrypt and decrypt all of the JPEG images on your computer.
Search for all of your JPEG files. Select Search Files from the menu.
Encrypt your JPEG files. Select Options/Encrypt All from the menu.
After all of your files are encrypted then select files to view. Select View/List XXX from the menu.
Use your up and down arrow keys and hit enter or double click on any listed file. This will then take you to the image form.
Hit enter to return to your List XXX files.
When you close the application, all of the files in the List JPEG and List XXX forms will be saved to disk. They will be loaded the next time that you start the JpegGuard application.
If you make changes to the location and/or names of these files then you should re-generate the List XXX and List JPG by doing another Search Files from your root drive.
After you have encrypted your files you should go through your list of JPEG files (List JPG) to ensure that these unencrypted files are OK to view by anybody. If they are not then encrypt them.

its pictures of myself and now its very old pictures for me but i would love to see them again. now i didn't remember whether what option was there in jpegGuard in 2009 or 2010 . i still have the data in external hard drive.

If you don't regard them as very personal, you could post a sample file somwhere, and see if anyone wants to take some time to play around with it, to see if it can be unlocked.
