want a better Photo viewer Hello all,
I am looking for a freeware (and preferably portable) Photo viewer as an option to default windows viewer. The Default viewer wastes too much space on Buttons and menu bars , especially on widescreen display and the image appears smaller due to such waste. Also, I want the software to display EXIF and buttons (Next,prev etc) as an transparent overlay over the full image, So that maxiumum screen is utilized.
My Pc-
AMD Manchaster X2 3800
MSi k8nGM2-FID mobo
4 GB ram
2 TB RAID 0 sata array
Nvidia 9800GT
Full HD 16:9 Screen. | My System Specs |

Found a discussion here but the thread is old, Image Viewer suggestions!
However, i want the EXIF to be shown RIGHT THERE. By default. Without going into a seperate menus. I already have Infran view, PhotoFiltre, and Inkscape. They lack an option to show EXIF as an overlay by default.
Infact, I am spoilt my by Samsung note , which does it all for me via a viewer called 'quickpic' http://www.google.co.in/url?q=http:/...8B4PBoxs6QSrsw https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...icFolder&hl=en

Not free, but I would recommend ACDSee Pro 6 ($100) which is an excellent image browser (as well as more, but I don't use it for anything but image viewing). You can try that as well as ACDSee 15 ($50) for free and decide whether either meets your needs and whether you are willing to buy them. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home-built, two systems (1) and (2) OS Windows 7 Pro x64 (1), Win7 Pro X64 / WinXP Pro x86 on (2) CPU i5-3350p 3.1Ghz/6MB-cache (1); E8400 3.0Ghz/6MB-cache (2) Motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V Pro (1); ASUS P5Q3 (2) Memory 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (1); 4GB PC3-10600 DDR3 (2) Graphics Card ATI HD5770 dual-DVI (1), (see TV cards); ATI HD4850 (2) Sound Card Realtek ALC892 HD Audio (1); Realtek ALC1200 HD Audio (2) Monitor(s) Displays Eizo HD2441W LCD, Eizo S2433W (1); Eizo 24" S2433W (2) Screen Resolution 1920x1200, 1920x1200 (1); 1920x1200 (2) Keyboard IBM PS/2 (1) and (2) Mouse Logitech MX Revolution wireless (1); Microsoft wired (2) PSU Nesteq ECS-6001 600W (1); Nesteq ECS-5001 500W (2) Case Acousti-Case 360 (1) and (2) Cooling Noctua NH-U12P SE2 for CPU, 2x120mm case fans (1) and (2) Hard Drives (1) 1TB SATA-II (7200RPM), 2TB SATA-II (7200RPM), 2TB SATA-III (7200RPM), 250GB SATA-III (10000RPM) for OS;

Thanks for the input. I am not spending on the software, hence would like a freeware option.
Thanks anyways. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Assembled and fully modded OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit CPU AMD manchester 3800 x2 Motherboard MSI K8nGM2-FID Memory 4 GB Graphics Card 9800GT (Overclocked) Sound Card Realtek Onboard 7.1 Monitor(s) Displays LG widescreen Case Self Modded,Acrylic side pannel with etching, DVD window,LED Cooling Slef Casted aluminium heatsinks, P4 CPU Heatsink on OC'd GFX Hard Drives 1 TB x 2 RAID 0, Gives easily 240 MB/s.
