My Pictures Have Vanished. Where did they go?

I have loaded all of my pictures into the computer from my Canon camera, started to rename all of them, and when I was complete it started applying the new names. Now all I have are 7 pictures from 127-134. I do not know where the other 126 photos have gone to! Could someone please help out and try to recover these pictures for me.

I have looked through the whole computes in every folder, every drive and still cannot find them (I have even tried showing the hidden files in the organizer in the folders as well). The system restore and backup is too outdated to the point where I will not be able to find them.

Yes I have done this a few times. The name that I saved it as has the same starting title on it as the other 126 photos, but when I search for it only the seven that stayed are showing up. I cannot seem to find the photos anywhere on the computer.

did you check to see if the pictures are still on the camera? My Nikon keeps them on the card until I delete them.

Yes. All of the pictures are deleted off of the camera and the 2gb sd card that was installed in the camera. We renamed all of te picture files and felted them off of the camera. Then all of a sudden they all vanished.
