    Windows Media Player auto-pausing

    Hi all

I have a issue with WMP auto-pausing whenever a USB drive or Mobile Phone is connected to the computer. It has become quite a nuisance. Is there any way of preventing this?

Do you mean that it keeps on pausing when a Mobile or USB is plugged, or pauses once when you plug it?

I tried to connect USB while playing, it didn't stop. There are two solutions which I can think of,

    1. Don't connect USB's and Mobile Phones while using WMP.
    2. Try a different Media Player. UMPlayer and VLC player seem to be popular.

The problem has been addressed by Microsoft,
Windows Media Player may be paused automatically when plugging/unplugging USB Audio device into the system

    Thanks for that Forz19

The Microsoft link acknowledges the problem but offers no solution. Number one isn't a option as I have my assignments saved to external devices. Number 2 it may have to be then disappointingly. This only started happening two days ago. I have been using WMP for years.

Edit: I should add, it also pauses when device is disconnected.

    Problem Solved

Restarted computer. Hadn't restarted computer for a long time, always put it to sleep before hitting bed. Now everything is working as normal.

    Fix: Restart computer.
