Windows 7: Music and Picture icons have changed

Music and Picture icons have changed

I have upgraded to windows 7 pro and after a restart, the music icon and the picture icon have changed. They folders still work but it is very annoying. After trying to go through the properties, I saw the "Restore default icon" button. When I press it, it does nothing. My other windows 7 Pro machine works normally. I have scanned for viruses but have come out clear. I have the option to change the icon to a jpeg or png but I would like the real icon back. Also, I have set up a virtual machine that shares those folders (XP mode) Could that have changed it? Thanks

Let us see how the icons are looking now?

Sharing with a VM should not change them, it may change, if the default program association is changed.

Did you do an upgrade from Vista?

Do Option 2 of this tutorial SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker it will not harm any data or programs you have installed it will try to find and repair any corrupt system files that you have. You may need to do this up to three times with a reboot after each scan.

Then do Icon Cache - Rebuild

As an alternative, just, you may follow this tutorial Libraries Icon - Change Default Icon and apply these icons in the zip. Desktop.zip
(both the icons are 16 layered, for all possible icon sizes.)

I should have specified. Its not the Library icons that are wrong, Its the folder in the "User" files. Such as C:\Users\user\(music or pictures)
