No movie preview in folders

HP laptop pavilon dv7 windows 7 64 bit operating system

I have a problem with my folders. I have movie folders and the file was like a movie screen (when I select large icon) in all the folders. Now the file is like a audio file - like a paper with the top right corner folded over. I don't know how that happened. My picture folders is ok - it shows a preview of the picture.

Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)

I would install K-lite codec pack and make sure you select thumbnail option.

im presuming the video thumbnails are not avi or mkv as they were already showing, i would hold off installing a codec pak until you have tried a few things first.
(after all windows should display video thumbnails by default.)
check you have thumbnails enabled, in an open window click organise then select folder and search options/ click the view tab then make sure the "always show icons ,never thumbnails is unchecked.

Name: thumb.png
Views: 0
Size: 45.9 KB

if it is unchecked then
try rebuilding the thumbnail cache...
