Can't open any images

Trying to open any image with the default Windows Photo Viewer gives me the following error:

I have plenty of hard disk space and RAM available. I can open anything else, I can even open images in other programs, but Windows Photo Viewer won't do anything for me. I've been running Windows 7 for several weeks without any issues - this seems to have come out of nowhere.

According to MS, your registry keys for the program may be damaged and you'll need to reinstall the photo viewer.

Sorry, I should have updated my post that I solved the problem. I had to change a colour profile for my monitor in my display settings.

This thread is old but I think maybe I got the same or similar problem, my computer was OK untill 3 weeks ago, from that time on, I can't open images, run games or some webpages, with the images I get an error "The remote procedure call failed" and "No such interface supported". BUT... if I keep clicking on the images for some time and after getting the same errors over and over (maybe 5 min) it will open and the whole system will start running fine, games webpages etc. And back to the same problem as soon as I restart the computer, I didn't installed any sofware and I run the anti virus a couple of times already, nothing found. Any help will be appreciated, or I need to format the whole HD. Thanks

You might ask a new question and add which Browser your having the issue with or if all browser act this way which ones,
Also ask in the Browser and mail section if the Admin for the site wishes to move you back here then so be it,
Also post direct links to the sites your having issues with,
And most of all Use the Fill in your System spec's link on my signature,
Please also post which Computer security suite you have installed and which scanners you've used,
Cheers.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't specify any broser or site because the problem is on the computer, I play an MMO not from browser but laucher, I use IE8, and the images are all kind of images (gpeg, bit, etc.) stored on my computer Windows 7 ultimate 32.
N00berG00ber's answer didn't help as the RPC was already on Auto. Anyway, I chose to format the HD :), Thanks.
