Live Movie Maker-Can video be kept at original size?

I made a huge mistake. I borrowed a friend's camera and took video which sadly, recorded at 240 pixels high.

So, when I import into WLMM, the video is automatically stretched to fill the screen when I view it and all of my subjects end up extremely fuzzy.

Is it possible to center the video at its original size and just put a background around it? (I attached an image so I could make myself more clear!)

If not, is there another video editing program (preferably free) that I can use?

    Please help!

Use this program for editing (if your codec is supported). It won't stretch anything. Easy Video Editor for FLV, MP4, MKV, AVI, WMV etc files

I tried it but doesn't appear the codec is supported.

For a test, convert the video to a supported codec. Format Factory is a good tool.

Here is a little tutorial I once made. Shows how to deal with Format Factory.

Ok, everything seems to be working but I can't figure out how to leave the original file the same size and center it on the screen (as in the diagram in my original post)...any suggestions?

some other free converters works better than format factory, such as the handbrake and wondershare free converter.
