filenames and titles of videos DVD to MP4

I am putting DVDs on an iPod using a DVD ripper and then iTunes. The DVDs have multiple videos. When then rip from the DVD to a folder on my hard drive, they all are titled with the DVD title and then numbered (such as Windows_Video_Title1.mp4) rather than with the name of each video. I went in and renamed the file for each. Then when I added the folder to iTunes they all showed up with the old names. I was very confused until I figured out that iTunes was using the "title" field not the filename field. Is there a way to fix this that is quick and easy?

The only solution I have found is after renaming the filename, I can go into properties, then the details tab, then the title field, then retype the proper name again. This is very time consuming. Is there a way to make windows take the filename change as the title? Is there a way to make iTunes use the filename not the title?

thanks

As you don't seem to have had a response perhaps it might be better to try the iTunes Forum! Just a thought.
