Windows Media Player Process does not end after closing WMP.

Hey forums! I've got a small problem that irritates me in a small way on a daily basis. The Windows Media Player process does not end when I close Windows Media Player. As such it creates problems and interference with my Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard when I want to switch to listening to some music in Winamp. This requires me to manually open Task Manager and terminate the process manually.

Is there any way of forcing the WMP Process to terminate automatically along with the program itself being shut without having to go into task manager every time? Would appreciate any advice or solutions.

Thanks!

1. Have you seen or tried the suggestions in this post: http://www.ghacks.net/2010/03/15/wha...howgadget-exe/
2. If you have any 3rd party plugins for WMP try disabling them. Also try reinstalling it from CP - programs and features - turn windows features.. - expand media - uncheck WMP then reverse this process.

I've never heard of WMPSideShowGadget.exe before, haven't seen it in Task Master either, so it's not that.

I also wanted to ask... What do you mean by 'CP' sorry?

Just a thought; do you use ITunes? I don't know if this can cause your problem but it's worth taking a look at.

Unfortunately, I had this problem on my old PC as well where I didn't have iTunes installed, so I'm getting the impression it's something in WMP as opposed to an outside program affecting it.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled WMP as Josea suggested. No luck yet. =\
