Windows Media Player in Win7 not remembering one setting

So I recently got Windows 7 and in it, WMP is not remembering a setting:

I like the time on the video to show as: 00:03 / 43:00 (i.e. current time on video / total length)
But everytime I close WMP it goes back to just showing 00:03 (just current time on video) and I have to click it to show the total length too.

    Help please. Thanks :)

have you clicked on the actual time , as it cycles through the displays it has.
im thinking thats what your saying you have done
does it do it when you play a music track. also are the videos in your wmp library .

Hi, yes I've clicked the actual time, but when I close wmp and reopen it, it goes back to just showing the current timestamp only (e.g. 00:03).
