Unable to rearrange pic folders

With Xp I could move my pic folders in any order I wanted. Windows 7 won't let me organize them how I want. It only allows me to move a folder into another one but not re order them in whichever sequence I choose. Any suggestions?

Hello Jakav, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, you could disable auto arrange to be able to arrange items in a folder in any order and position you like. This doesn't work in library folders though.

Windows Explorer Auto Arrange - Disable

Hope this helps,
Shawn

The picture folders I want to move around are in "my pictures library". Any way to rearrange manually? I want to be able to move and place them in whatever random order I want.

Unless you go to say your actual "C:\Users\(user-name)\My Pictures" folder instead, then not that I'm aware of.

That is the bad thing about the tutorial it does not effect the library system or any program that reads the library system,
It does give you the ability to drag files inside the folders around which makes it allot easier to rename these files to adjust the arrangement on a large scale.
See if this gives you some ideas of how mass renaming works,
I didn't find a tutorial on sevenforums ?
