    Ripping DVD's

I have a nice set of war movies on DVD but due to the fact that there kids running around the house I get to watch them once in a blue moon. So now that I have this lovely and shiny new Galaxy S4 I was wondering if I couldn't rip my DVD's to my PC and then copy them to my phone (just like I do with my music CD's). Is there a way to do this (preferably free)?

    Thanks.

Actually it turns out that the problem may be the encryption/DRM on the disks. Apparently I need another piece of software to defeat that before I can convert the movie to a different format. My ISP has decided that tonight is the night to play silly buggers with my connection so all downloads will have to wait for tomorrow :/

Incidentally I tried Handbrake with an older DVD that has no DRM and it ripped it but the picture awful :/

bigsib those DVD's are protected so they don't copy.
    They are copyrighted.

    HandBrake: Features

    Supported Input Sources:
Handbrake can process most common multimedia files and any DVD or BluRay sources that do not contain any kind of copy protection.
