Streaming Videos start well but then just constantly jumpy

    Hi there

    New user, first post.

I've went through some of the tutorials and done a few things I never heard of, or at least I understood and knew what I was doing.

For the last good while I have been unable to watch streaming videos without having problems. For example there is a UK (Scottish) TV player called stvplayer that I try to watch programmes on but its just a waste of time, I barely get 1 min into it and it is so choppy and jumpy.

I tried a few fixes last night but it only marginally helped.

    * Unchecked hardware accelerator on Flash Player
    * Connected to router using Ethernet rather than WiFi (this had the best positive effect)
    * Battery setting was set to Power Saver but this was changed to High Performance

    Youtube works perfectly.

I also just done a scan from the tutorials (SFC /SCAN NOW) and it has found corrupt files but access is denied to the log file.

Is it simply that my laptop is just not good enough?
