Windows 7 media player issue with deleting files and playlists\albums
Ok, so I've done this lots of times, Download music from the internet, put it in the music folder, play it.
Now reccently I've had to do alot of re-installing after corrupt registries and bad motherboards, and from what I've notice, WMP isn't the same.
Specifically the file organisation and the file deletion. The most prominant issue is the deletion, I don't like the samples so I delete them, usually it's Find the samples folder, ctrl+a, hit the delete key, no more Kalimba. Now it's Find the samples folder, ctrl+a, hit the delete key, Kalimba still there. So what's the deal? It's gone, in the recycle bin, so the file shoulden't be there! I'm not even using some media sharing service so no problem there. I can't even play the ghost file, it just says "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted."
Now this is different, I mean I got rid of Maid with flaxen hair and Sleep away the same way, they're in the recycle bin where they can't hurt my ears, Kalimba though is with them and STILL IN MY LIBRARY. I've restored the file, deleted it from WMP, no luck. Changed the folder it uses to look for music, nil. And I just don't know what to do! I don't want to use another media player because WMP is pretty much the only GOOD one out there.
Now onto the files listing\organisation. After I tried to shift the electronica song issue out of my head, I noticed my library contains 18 files in the aptly named "Actually Good Music" folder placed on my desktop, yet only 3 are listed, Myonmyonmyonmyonmyonmyonmyonmyon, Myonmyonmyonmyonmyon!, and The Legend Of JonTron. It won't list others. So I attempted to see what playing one of the new songs then looking at the listings would do.
Nothin', so I changed the folder once more, then back to the Actually Good Music folder on my desktop, no good done. So I deleted the playlist from WMP. Guess what? MORE GHOSTS!! So I looked online for the problem, all I found is stopping a patnership between my media sharing service that dosen't exsist, directions to delete the Meda Player folder (which is like dissecting a germ as it's apparently in use even after you close WMP) and microsoft customer support links which are empty to the point of being as functional as Action52 (aka they won't load a page). So just great, so now I'm stuck with 4 ghosts, 15 unlisted tracks, a wrecked sanity, bloody scalp, and hairy keyboard.
So please, before I attempt to do this again and pluck my head bald, (no offece to bald people it's just I like my hair :P) can someone tell me what the heck to do? I'm as confused as a myctophobic getting in a cardboard box without a source of light.
Post-Script: Apologies if I may have offended anyone with some things I said, it's just I poured my heart and soul into this and it's now this thing.
