Where is my music stored?

Despite the obvious place in the folder 'My Music' I have stacks of music that is in 'My Playlist' which I can't find on my HD?
If I go into the above folder, there are a few titles listed, but I can't find the rest?
If I click on 'My computer' and select the contents of my 'F' drive (which is where the rest of the music is stored), no mention of any other music?
Would appreciate any suggestions please.
Confused?????

What file extension would you expect you music files to have.? Type the file extension in the following instruction instead of the (Ext)
Click the Windows start button and in the search box type *.(Ext) and see what that finds. Example *.wav would find all wav files on your system.
