Windows Media Player 12 WMV Error

I have an issue when trying to play a wmv file with windows media player. The error states: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the required video codec is not installed on your computer." (Screenshot is below) I have looked everywhere for codecs and haven't found any that work.

If anyone has a resolution please let me know!

We need a lot more information.

What file type are you trying to play?

Where did the file come from?

As stated in my original post, the file type is WMV. The link where I am getting the file is here.

I get the same message from that file, so I would say that file is corrupted, the properties claim it is 1 hour 6 mins, but only 51.9 MB in size.

    Apologies missed that.

I receive the same error as well, so it looks like the file is actually messed up.
