All Media Players play in portrait format

    All Media Players play in portrait format


    Hi there,

    I have just bought a second hand acer laptop with windows 7 home premium already installed. However when I try to watch a movie either in WMP, VLC player or even something on YouTube, it just plays in portrait layout with wide black borders down the left and right hand side of the screen...but if I play a physical DVD then it will go to full widescreen which is how I want the other options to play

    Please can anyone help with what I need to do in order for everything to play in widescreen regardless of which media player I use?

    Thanks Tookeri but that info doesnt seem to help me with my problem :-(

    I do have to apologise because I have since checked and it does open up in widescreen on Youtube...it just doesnt on VLC Player or WMP - any other ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
