Upload photos problem

Hi:
This may also be a stupid question, but I've never had this happen before so I don't know what to do. I've been trying to upload photos to a few forum sites but when I hit the browse button on the forum upload page I can't find the photos that I know I've placed on my desktop.
I know the photos are there, but for whatever reason, they are not displayed.
Any clues as to why this is happening?

Have you tried to Upload Photos else where ? ...

If that works then it must be a problem with the Site you are visiting ..

No, I have not tried to upload them anyplace else, but the same issue has happened on different forum sites.
That's too coincidental, right?

Much thanks for the quick respones. It must have just been a windows update problem. When I ran the Windows updates (which I had not done in many months), it was fixed.
Thanks
