Scanned photos disappear on computer

I scanned a photo with my Canon MX 410, selected the folder I wished it to be transferred to, and since there was no choice like "OK" or "Done," I clicked "Exit." I've looked in the designated folder, scanned documents, my documents, and my pictures, but the photo is nowhere to be found. I know this must be a simple issue, but I can't figure it out.

Does the software look like what is shown in this video for a slightly different printer model?

If so, the watch how to save the scan.

No, it's different, but the part on the left is similar.

You might want to look thru some other videos until you find the software that you have:

Some scanners put their scans in a subFolder of Documents/My Documents or Pictures/My Pictures in a Folder named something like My Scans or Scanned Items.

If you know the name of the file (I presume the same as on your camera), you might be able to locate the file with Everything.
Everything (I use portable version to avoid writing to the C: drive and Registry) lists every file on your PC.
- it can take some time depending on the size of the disc and the number of files on target drive before Everything UI shows.

The filter/search (top left of resulting list) on Everything UI will also respond to wild cards
eg,
*.bmp ... will show only BMP files
*.png ... will show only PNG files
*my*.* ... will show all files with "my" in the file name (all file types)
12??.png ... will show all PNG files with "12" plus two characters in the file name
abc123.* ... will show all files named "abc123" of all file types

I have had problems with lost photos from cameras in the past, and Everything found them

Hope this helps

Good info. Grey Ghost. That's something I might try to do --- "one of these days."

Oddly, I eventually found that scanned stuff in "MX Navigation." Who knew?
