    Query re phone music

I am a nooby with these androids and have a new Samsung Galaxy S5 and I have loaded some music from the computer and bought some via the phone service.
But I cannot get the phone to play in anything but a random track pick / play and I cannot find the music on the phone in Computer when I hook it up to the computer via the USB lead in either the phone or the card (8GB micro SD). Plus the random play seems to cycle through the same three albums and the darn ringtones??

In particular the music I have bought cannot find in the phone either on its own or as I said with it hooked up to the computer.

I have done quite a few Googles but have not come up with anything that gives me an answer to what is probably a very simple fix.
    Any suggestions / fixes appreciated.

Hi seems you would need to convert or make sure the music is a mp3 file before transferring :/
Put and play music on Galaxy S5 freely-Free Music Converter for Galaxy S5
I don't know anything about this site :/
    Cheers.

I will say usually ring tones would be in a separate folder than music because the device uses them in different ways.
Sample music would however be in the dcmi music folder though but I don't have a android phone to see what it looks like

Thanks mate I did see some reference to that but thought non more of it and some of the stuff I downloaded from computer to phone went through a long process of asking me something about converting stuff.
I shall try that software anyway and perhaps it might make it easier to set up what stuff I play

    Possible solution

I admit I know little about android phones but I've used MediaMonkey (stable version) for Windows in the past. It works pretty well as a non-default music player but is a little resource hungry and that's why I ditched it in favor of something else.

Anyway for information purposes only there's this Beta app for android phones:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ediamonkeybeta

It's claimed that it has the ability to sync files between Android/ Windows but does require MediaMonkey for Windows to be installed on the computer.

Note: If you decide to try installing MediaMonkey Beta for Windows it's best not to associate any file types when asked. I suppose that once you've got tracks into your library you can play them with whatever media player you like.

As they're both beta builds there might be problems to iron out!

Hi yea like I said I know nothing of the site or the software it points too so
Like most things there's an app for that it's just a matter of finding it,
Most of my music is mpeg4's iTunes stuff :/
Keep us updated I might run into the same odd issue :)
    Cheers.

What are you using to play the music? Did you create a folder called music on the external storage and then drag and drop your music into it?

Are you using google play music app to play it or some other app?

No I just copy pasted the music from the laptop to the phone and the downloaded stuff went I ma guessing to the phone?? I open the phone in Computer and there are two arrears one the phone and one the card (I am assuming this is the 8GB micro SD) but on opening up these two araes there is nothing in "Music".

I play stuff from the My Music app - well I think it is from there because when I am in the car it plays auto through the Blu tooth pairing??

It is all a bit of a mystery to me as this is the first real android thing I have ever had and it is taking a while to find my way around it
