Videos keep stuttering/freezing no matter what media player used

So, I've had Windows 7 on my HP ENVY dv6-7213nr Notebook PC for two months or so now. Everything was fine (once I went through the hell that was finding the correct driver for the wireless) until about a week or so. I've tried KMPlayer and MPC-HC in playing videos, and it will randomly start freezing. The freezing comes and goes, hence the stuttering, and can happen from 5 minutes in to 20 minutes in, completely randomly. Those are just the times I've noticed. It does not freeze the whole computer, just what I'm watching. It also does it no matter *what* I am watching, I've tried seven different movies and ten different shows. I can't seem to go longer than 20 minutes before it starts doing it.

I have my laptop fully updated. I ran two virus scans, one was at boot level, as well as running a Malware scan. I tried disabling all accelerators (as one website claimed worked), and I tried disabling Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center (as another one claimed). I made sure I had the correct audio drivers, I uninstalled CCCP (my codec pack) and reinstalled it, and I made sure I had the correct graphics driver. Nothing that I can think of will fix it. Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,

Then refer to this,

Verify where you got the codec pack
Are online videos playing okay ?
Which security suite came pre-installed on the machine and which are you using or have ever used

Online videos work fine, although recently (within the last day or two), programs started loading slowly. To the point where it might take ten to fifteen seconds for Chrome to even show up when I click on it. I got the codec pack directly from CCCP (CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack), and I don't recall which security suite came pre-installed. It had Windows 8 installed on the system, and I did a clean install of Windows 7. I use Avast and Malware Bytes for antivirus and malware.

Hi and thanks for additional info,
I don't know anything about that codec pack :/
Most people simply use vlc media player if they need special codecs
Possibly use this free scanner to see if you picked up anything weird,

I ran adwcleaner, and it found nothing. A few old reg keys and shortcuts, but nothing that would be causing this.

One interesting thing is, I think it might have to do with file sizes. 30 minute shows never freeze. It's the 45-60 minute shows and longer movies that tend to do the freezing. Another thing is, if I bookmark and exit during the freezing, I can open it right up again and go back to the bookmark. It won't freeze for another random amount of time.

Edit: And looks like I spoke too soon. Just started doing the freezing for 30 minute videos too.

So...does anyone have any ideas that I haven't tried? I would do a clean wipe, but it was enough of a pain finding the correct drivers for my wireless the first time, so I'd rather try other ideas first.

Hi sorry for the delayed response
There are some interesting entries in the scan,
Please reset what ever browsers you have installed,

You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
See this tutorial on how to download and run Malwarebytes,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/338716-malwarebytes-anti-malware-free.html
Also use the Custom scan option not the Threat scan,

Please Do Not clean/ Delete or Remove Any detections before posting the scan results first before review especially Malwarebytes,
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
SAS is safe to remove anything it finds
http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=SUPERANTISPYWARE
This one is the longest up to 4 hours, the others are only about 45 minutes,
