What is the best player to play MKV files.

I have used several media players that supports MKV files but, i was not satisfied with all those players. Because the players i used are specially for MKV but those players are not having special features i.e, other additional features like Blu-Ray, HD videos. these are lagging in the players what i used.
If you suggest me with some decent list of players i'll be thank full to you guys.
    Thanks Mates'
    Tom Barry.

Hello Tom and welcome to Seven Forums.

    I'd suggest VLC Media Player.

    Thanks for all your support,
I herd some flaws about VLC player, that when we play videos at full volume speakers may be damaged...!!
I went through some cases like this so, i panic to install VLC.

It can blow speakers at max volume as VLC allows (or used to) up to 125%-200% volume. I made that mistake once, been careful ever since

Or do you have any other remedy to prevent my speakers from tearing
No other alternate Player for MKV other than VLC...!!

Windows Media Player will play them, but you may need a codec package installed. I've also used the DivX player that worked but I really wasn't fond of it (www.divx.com). There may be a setting somewhere in VLC that will allow you to limit the volume but I'm not 100% sure.

I honestly cant say as I've never used them before. I will say be careful downloading from softonic, they are known to include unwanted additions to their downloadables. I don't know anything about download basket tho. I would research both sites before I download from either of them.

Hey, @MyDog8em Thanks for the support
I was just suggested by some forum about that sites, if the thing is that they provide unwanted matters. I have used VLC and all those others mentioned need to try this one. so this...!! If you have any suggestions for downloads I'm happy to receive:).
