    Chromecast staggering video

If I play a video on my tv using Chromecast through my desktop, the video on the desktop stops playing as it should do. The desktop hangs on the cable.

However, if I use my laptop wireless, the video on both will keep playing.
That results in staggering movies, because the wireless is not fast enough.

How to stop my laptop from playing when I cast to my TV?

What app are you using to cast?

A picture is said to be better than a thousand words so here's about two thousand words, using Netflix as an example (click screenshots to enlarge):

Casting from Chrome browser's Cast button:

Casting directly from an app with Chromecast support:

To put it short: casting a tab or desktop using the Chromecast button in Chrome browser shows the same content on local PC and Chromecast. In other words, if a video is casted using the Chrome's cast feature, the content is shown both on the local PC and Chromecast. There's absolutely no way to prevent this.

If the casting is done directly from an app supporting Chromecast, the content is only shown in Chromecast.

Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't seem to work with W7 64 bits?
I can't see any apps installed, or it says, no devices/ apparatus installed?

I just can't find the right app.
I wanted for instance to view NPO the Dutch TV on the TV.
I can do that with my desktop and Chromecast and the desktop stops displaying the video, which than is cast to the TV.
I/m using the upper r hand icon of Chromecast.
If I try the same thing on my laptop, both will play the video, and that results in staggering performances.
Even if I use the cable connection of the laptop.
Both Pc's however have about the same speed and Windows 7 configuration installed.

I would like to stop playing on two screens at the same time.

I see, that your suggested chrome cast icon in the lower r, hand corner of the video, won't show up on NPO.
