    Windows Media Player very slow updating library


    Hello. My Windows Media Player is too slow updating library. I have 4,968 songs and WMP imports media at a very slow rate of 1 song per 5 minutes. It's almost a week now and it's still not scanned them all completely. My music is on another partition (drive D) on the same hard drive. D:Music, where my songs are store, is selected in Music library properties as well as in WMP. What could possibly be the problem and how do I fix it?

    Hi,
    Although it sounds like you did everything correctly I would personally add the files in a new library a few folders or albums at a time say 500 at a time +- and go from there.

    Also use the link to Fill in your system spec's page with the forums free utility listed above my signature image so we might have more information on your system,
    Please also add which security suite/s you have installed registry cleaners like ccleaner......

Is it possible to make Windows Media stop updating media library for once and for all? I'm not talking about retrieving media information of the internet, I don't have it active and basically everything in Options has been disabled but it still updates media library every time I launch it. ...
I just freshly installed Windows 7 on a friends computer, they bought it from my recommendation, now they are upset cause their music in the music folder isnt being added to WMP, which is their choice for music playback, what is it I need to do, to add the music. I didn't have this problem for me.
