Windows Movie Maker and Real Media
How do you import or convert and then import Real Media video into the Windows Movie Maker?
I did some research on my own and I found a suggestion to use AlltoAvi. But this program and this suggestion seemed to be geared to converting .rm files. But the files I have that I have used Real Media to download from the net are .flv files.
I got some other advice that takes an entirely different approach. I was told that I have to first encode the .flv files into avi or wmv files and then MovieMaker will work with them.
One tool to do this was FLVsoft. It worked but it put a huge logo watermark on my video. I think I will NOT buy them out of spite and I am even more encouraged to find a free way to do this because of them.

Another software to convert .flv files into a workable file is the VLC player.
This link Windows Movie Maker gives some instructions on how to run this program for converting files from FLV files to usable files. But these instructions seem to be written for an older version of VLC and no matter what I have tried, I have either produced empty files or files with blank images and garbled audio.
Here are some screen shots of the available settings. Please advise:

Another program suggested to me is flvextract (Moitah.net)
This program looks very interesting. It did produce the audio file. But it did not produce the video file. Instead it produced what appears to be two text or data files. One is a .txt file and the other is a .264 file.
