Read this link. It is from Microsoft and about half way down the page it tells you how to burn a data cd with mp3. Right after the Silverlight Logo.

I am 100% sure I set WMP to burn as audio cd and it still burned as data cd. I use Power2go because it does not give me problems like WMP.

Just a thought. Use the site that bigmck posted.

Tick on the (+) for Windows 7. The video should be there.

If things still don't work I would suggest trying a different brand of C/D's. All brands of C/D's are not created equal.

Let's go over step by step of this to see if you are doing these things. == Open your WMP. Click on "Burn Tab", drag a MP3 file into the area that says "Drag Here to Create Burn List". Try that with just one file, burn it and see if you can play it first in your PC and then try it in your car. You might be doing things exactly as this, but just "humor me" and give this a try.

I did those steps exactly bigmck, you have to believe me. WMP screwed me over burning cds. It is total bs Thats why I am not using WMP to burn cds anymore. Now I use Power2go. I know Power2go is not free. A free alternative is itunes and I could try itunes to burn a audio cd.

passion4tech did you watch the video I pointed you to in post #13?

Tens of millions if not hundreds of millions use WMP. It hard to understand why you can't.

Guys I noticed my cds had scratches and I tried rubbing alcohol on cds with cotton ball and that did not help. The Macklemore song Downtown, track 12, still keeps skipping. The last song track 18 will not play at all. Thanks WMP for messing up track 18.

Nothing wrong with WMP that good CD's and proper operation won't cure.

How in the heck is a program (WMC) or any other program playing music going to scratch or damage a CD?

Come on passion4tech use a little passionate thinking.
Something mechanical or the user of the CD scratch the CD's.
Try taking WMC program to the kitchen sink and give it a good washing.

Not else sure how I can phrase it. All audio from the web, like youtube, or anything, sounds like electronic, almost "alien" like sound; Windows Media Player however is as usual, which is pretty good. So, the headphones work; the jack is OK; it seems to me the driver is ok as well. Just anything...
