Set up of Blu-Ray to TV w/W7

OK..I did a clean install of W7 on my desktop and all went well. But now with this better OS...I wanted to play a blu-ray DVD on my TV.

I planned on running a DVI to HDMI cable from my PC to my 1080i plasma TV. (panasonic TH-50PX600U).

What other things do I need to be aware of in order to do this?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi there
    "Ask and ye shall receive"

Some of the software isn't free however.
VLC might finally have a blu ray version -- I know it's been in the offing for a while -- great FREE player. Anyway try this site.

Thanks for the reply..however,,I am not trying to rip the blu-ray dvd into my computer and play it on my TV.

I am trying to understand how to play a DVD blu-ray on my TV by way of the blu-ray drive on my computer.

I.E. I put a blu-ray dvd into my computer...then I play it and watch it on my HD TV.

I am assuming I will need an DVI to HDMI cable...but what else do I need to know. Has anyone else attempted this?

    Thanks,
