Windows 7 not playing any videos

This has been happening for a few days now. All of my drivers are up to date. I have a windows 7 samsung home premium laptop. i can watch videos on Youtube and on my browser (chrome) but no matter what video player i use, i can't watch downloaded videos! i've used players like GOM player, VLC, and KMplayer but nothing happens and it's just a black screen. when I use Windows Media Player, it shrinks the image and freezes on one of the first frames but it plays the audio. This is so frustrating, please help.

I am having some of the same issues watching downloaded videos . I can watch videos from you tube Google But I can't even watch videos from ITunes. A while back Windows Update upgraded me to what was current a while back and I installed a new version of my graphics driver from AMD Radeon . I am confused.

Has anybody succeeded playing videos from their SkyDrive on Windows 7?
It's both ridiculous and enraging - I have it working in Windows 8 and failing on IE10 in Windows 7. On the same bloody hardware. The format that should be definitely playable is mp4. So, my question is - is there anyone who has it working on IE 10 in Win 7? I need to know!
