wait, what? where do i right click to find this option?

click on WMP, then click on "Music". Choose the file you want, right click on it and choose "Open file location".
Right click on the file, choose 'take ownership'.

is it a problem that i don't have that option?

You don't have the option to "take ownership"?

Is this your computer or is someone else the Administrator and you're a 'user'?

it's my computer and my account is set up as an admin.

I'm sorry, I don't know how to help you get to what you want to do ... it all works for me. drat

i looked up the take ownership thing on google and it shows how to take permissions of a folder or file. i already have permissions to the files, so that might be why it's not showing up.

nevermind, it just took an unusually long time to update from me adding it in media player. seems to be alright now.

So you're able to paste the artwork on a single file now?

for whatever reason, i still can't do that. the files just updated themselves from what i added through media player.
