    click on WMP, then click on "Music". Choose the file you want, right click on it and choose "Open file location".
    Right click on the file, choose 'take ownership'.

    You don't have the option to "take ownership"?

    Is this your computer or is someone else the Administrator and you're a 'user'?

    i looked up the take ownership thing on google and it shows how to take permissions of a folder or file. i already have permissions to the files, so that might be why it's not showing up.

    Take Ownership Shortcut
    might give that a try if you say it'll let me change the art.

    nevermind, it just took an unusually long time to update from me adding it in media player. seems to be alright now.

    for whatever reason, i still can't do that. the files just updated themselves from what i added through media player.
