    album art

i went through my whole media player library and added album art to the files, but they don't show up on the thumbnails of the files themselves. i have my music library arranged by artist and it shows the thumbnail and i'm kind of anal about this stuff (i like having my music properly tagged and all that). is there any way to add art to individual files (be it through media player or a 3rd party app or whatever is available)?

The only way I've been able to do this, and I'm sure it's a round-about way .... look for the song using Google Images. The album art image will show in thumbnails, click on the thumbnail and "save as"... it will save in your pictures. Then click on the .jpg to copy it, paste it on the individual file.

What does the message say when you try to paste the art?

there's no message. the option just doesn't come up. or maybe i'm doing it wrong? i right click on the jpeg file and click copy and then right click on the mp3 file and look for paste, but it won't let me. i've also tried dragging the jpeg file on top of the mp3, but i get the circle with the line through it next to my pointer.

Let's see if this works ... click on WMP, then click on "Music". Choose the file you want, right click on it and choose "Open file location". Now, go to your saved .jpg and copy it .... see if it will now paste on the particular file. Open WMP again, then click on the "artist" and see if your art is on it.

doesn't work. i thought it would work if i added the art in media player and then it would update the file, but it didn't. rather than trying to do this in windows (which is doesn't look like it can be done), is there a 3rd party tool that will do this?

Right click on the file (the full path in 'file location') ... choose take ownership.

I don't know why you're having such a problem because I never have.
