My VX-7000 camera not working with Win 7 - Help

    I am running Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit version.
My video camera is Microsoft VX-7000.
My Lifecam software is Windows 7 64bit compatible, release 3.0

My Lifecam software installed without problems but when I double-click on the LifeCam software, I get an BLANK screen with a message that states "no camera connected".

However, when I run/use Skype (latest version 4.1.0.179), the camera works without problems, which confirms that the camera is OKAY.

I have checked Microsoft Support and found article KB933311 titled "No camera connected" error message, and the video preview is blank when you start the LifeCam software: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933311

but none of those issues effect me, nor did it solve anything.

So, what is happening? Any ideas?

Have you checked the drivers, are they all up to date? http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...s/default.aspx

    Hi Tara,

I would assume so, as I did a clean install of Windows 7 and installed the full software of LifeCam 3.0, which is supposed to be Win 7 compatible.

Drivers are not automatically set up with a clean install of an OS, check for updates here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...s/default.aspx.

Of course I installed the software, as written in my original posting. I installed Lifecam 3.0, for the the camera (VX-7000), which is a Microsoft Product.

And yes, it's Windows 7 compatible:

That's why I am puzzled! Still no resolution.
