I'm guessing you have your sound and graphics drivers up to date, so do you use any codec packs? If yes, which one? Which renderer do you use for playback on your system? And what exactly are the original files, VOBs or already compressed files like h264, DivX, XviD etc.

I too would look at the codec pack first. I use Windows 7 Codec Pack and am very happy with it.

Video Editing Program
I have a movie file that I'd like to watch but it is a transfer of an old VHS and therefore has a lot of hiss and noise that makes it almost too hard to watch. Is there a good, preferably free, program that will let me take out the hiss and noise. Is there such a program ?

Music Editing Program
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. What I need is an easy to use editing program that works on 64 bit. Free would be better but I would pay for one if it's the better one. I'm fixing to start converting some of my vinyl to CD.
