AVCHD Resolution Issues
I have a lot of 1920x1080 home videos in AVCHD format (.mts) from a Canon HF100. In Windows XP, those files display at 1920x1080. However, in Windows 7 / WMP 12, those files play in 640x360. Ironically, if I right click on the file in the playlist and select properties, it even says the file is 1920x1080.
Using Shark007's codec utilities to disable the Windows Media Foundation, I was able to override the default Windows codec, which resulted in 1920x1080 playback. However, it broke my ability to stream media to DLNA clients.
So, I have turned Windows Media Foundation back on, which results in 640x360 playback on both my monitor and on DLNA clients. The really strange part, though, is that if I push a video to a DLNA client using "Play To" rather than pulling it from the DLNA client device, then I get full 1920x1080, but with no sound.
Has anyone else had this experience?
