    Can't View Video's or Pictures

For countless months I have had this issue, and for a couple of times a simple reboot would do the trick. But now I cannot get my videos to play or my images to show.

I have also searched most of the internet with no avail.

My videos show as a jpeg and only audio plays and windows picture view only shows "loading".

I;m very very frustrated with this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a dell xps studio with windows 7 ultimate with a Radeon HD 3670 installed, and i suspect this is the issue.

if you need any more info on my problem let me know, I appreciate your time in helping me!

What application do you use to view video?

Did videos EVER play properly on this machine?

Have you knowingly made any changes to your video playback or jpeg viewing capabilities?

Can you properly view jpegs on an application other than Windows picture viewer?

When video playback stalls, what does your task manager tell you about the major users of CPU and RAM at that moment?

Yes videos do play back, but sometimes when i turn my computer back on the videos do not play on WMP or on WMC. An image is diplayed with the audio playing.

As for pictures, I can see them in photoshop and such but not in Windows Photo Viewer.

I have reason to believe it is the graphics card because sometimes when i uninstall it and reinstall it it works, but then it just stops working again.

Its very very frustrating! and in wmc it says that " files are missing to play the video and either restart wmc or the system"

This instant they are playing fine, but if i were to reboot, they would probably not work.

Only temp solution ive found is uninstalling and reinstalling the video driver, and that works only sometimes! It's been real frustrating not being able to find a proper solution.

I found the culprit. It is actually "the latest update" from windows update that tries to install the latest driver for the video card....

the card works when i uninstall everything related to the card and when it gets reinstalled it works.

after it is installed windows installs the latest update from windows update and that ruins the fncionality.

so just dont install the latest update from windows and your good!
