Player for Studio Quality FLAC 24 Bit 88.2kHZ downloads Hi all
I've ripped my Cd's to standard 16 bit FLAC 44.1 Khz but am interested in downloading any new music at Studio Quality - FLAC 24 Bit 88.2kHZ and above (up to 192kHz for really fussy audiophiles).
Such stores as these give you Studio Quality downloads -- High quality music in the Ipod age is STILL not dead thank goodness. Linn Records - The best recordings in Studio Master Download, Vinyl and SACD
I can get the VAT back when outside the UK so it's not hoplessly expensive .
However I need a decent player for this stuff. Streaming with a Squeezebox system is fine when I'm home but if I've got the music on a computer what decent player handles the codec. I don't mind using a decent pair of Bose Cans either.
Cheers

Hi! ^_^
I think foobar2000 can do that, but I'm not sure because I haven't studio quality audio files so... give it a try!
Here is the link: foobar2000

VLC has got some of the best compatibility around. I also like it because you can get it in the portable version so that you can use it on a USB stick with your tunes and so that you can have it on your computer without having it install it which helps if you prefer other players for other media types. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate X64 CPU Q6600 @3.6 Motherboard DFI X38-T2R Memory 2X2 Mushkin Graphics Card XFX 4870X2 Monitor(s) Displays Philips 240PW PSU PCP&C 750W Case Antec 900 Cooling TRUE 120 Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB |

That's true... VLC do that too, but... I still prefer foobar2000 for it's very customizable UI, gapless playback, portability (also, you can carry it on a USB flash), tools, format conversion options, support for Unicode/UTF-8, bundled DSP (included multi-channel effects for stereo sources with LFE redirection and everything "out of the box"), low resource consumption, etc.
Anyway... I'll leave a couple of screenshots of the foobar2000 that I carry in my pen drive, maximized and restored. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number @Home: Built by me / @Work: Banghó Extrema OS @Home: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 / @Work: Windows 8 RP CPU @Home: C2Quad Q6600@2.4 GHz. / @Work: C2Duo E4500@2.65 GHz. I've downloaded lots of themes before I tweaked them and decided to keep it like you see in the screenshots. Plus, I've lots of plugins for compatibility for bizarre audio formats that I use. Whit all that integrated, my foobar2000 folder is using just 19,6 MB. from my pen drive... the remaining space is pure music. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number @Home: Built by me / @Work: Banghó Extrema OS @Home: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 / @Work: Windows 8 RP CPU @Home: C2Quad Q6600@2.4 GHz. / @Work: C2Duo E4500@2.65 GHz.
