Choppy Audio/Video Playback

I have been struggling with choppy audio/video playback through WMP on Win7 for some time and, to save a lot of time, have narrowed it down to this: I cannot have Flash Player or AnyDVD installed if clarity in playback is to be achieved. With either program installed the audio/video will buzz every 10 seconds or so and especially if there is activity in another window.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and what the source/solution was.

Thanks.

P.S., I have tried updating drivers for; Chipset, Video Card, and Hard Drives. I have also completely uninstalled and "swept" the video card drivers. Also, I have tried changing the BIOS settings for the hard drives, different hard drive set ups (Raid and no Raid), as well as different hard drives altogether and several reformats.

Sorry for the double post.

What kind of media is it? Please update your system specs. From what I can see your PC is able to play HD video, so this is either an issue with audio (try updating drivers for audio, I don't see you listed that you tried) or codecs. I suggest you use either Shark's codecs, or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (depending on what you need from the codecs besides playback).

I'm not sure what else I can supply for my system specs, sorry. Also, I should've specified that the media that is affected is all media, audio and video whether it is an mp3, avi, mpeg4, etc. I will definitely try updating audio drivers, but I have tried the codecs, (both shark and k-lite).

Thanks for the quick response!

When installing the K-Lite pack, all the settings are already set, furthermore, Shark's codecs do need just a bit tweaking, but even if you skip it, you should be able to play videos properly, so yes, definitely update the audio drivers, reboot and check; don't forget to post back the results. ;)

I'm not sure what happened, maybe a windows update, but I have ANYDVD and Adobe Flash installed and there is no more evidence of the aforementioned problem. I did not install any codec packs or have a chance to update audio drivers, the problem just seemed to resolve itself so I can only imagine that an update must have solved it.

Thanks for the help and speedy responses!
