Welcome to the forum, you are going to get a lot of responses on this, some free some not. Here's one that works great but isn't free, it is a 30 day "use before you buy" trial, Download DVD Copying Software for free | Convert DVD to PSP
yea...they're copyright DVD's.
They all are, DVDFab will rip them to your hard drive, it's free for 30 days, try it, if you don't like it, you don't buy it.:)
Or give it a little while and you'll get several recommendations.
DVD Copy Software from DVDFab | Copy DVD to PSP, DVDR or iPod
Try these:
DVD Decrypter download DVDDecrypter
Download DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 - DVD Shrink - A FREE software to backup DVD disks ! - Softpedia
Use the first to rip, then the second to recompress.
Shrink is a good app but a little dated for 7. It's unable to get past some of the copy protection. You may need something like Anydvd running first. Anyhow, if you use shrink to create a vob file directory it has a checked option by default to break up your files into 1 gig chunks. No big deal if your going to use those files to burn but if your doing a video library then you might want a single file for each movie.
If you don't use compression you'll wind up with files about 3.5 gigs a peice. That can add up.
