Well, I just spent almost two hours with this stooopid WMP trying to figure this out....I wanted to find the answer, so I tried a different approach...adding a video folder.
I had downloaded the mp4 video with the guy talking about Firefox 3.6, added it to the main Video Library, and I can play it in WMP, but I can't make it visible in that folder view....sound familiar?
I've methodically gone through various help menus, and I even went into the "Turn Windows Features On and Off" and enabled every single feature, on the off chance that something I had disabled previously was affecting this. I set in the WMP options menu the feature pictured below, played the video , and still could not get it to show up....even though repeated attempts to add it now tell me that it is in the WMP library.
So I am at the point now of saying "screw this thing" and downloading the often-recommended VLC media player to use instead.
For you, cjhtwo, maybe a different program would be the answer for you too. You didn't mention, I don't think, whether the things you were downloading daily were audio or video. I take care of my music and podcast needs with MediaMonkey (asides from CD ripping) and I will most likely give VLC a try in the next day or so for video use. Any other questions, I'll do my best to help you out.
