Well i used to use nero before, on my vista. it was easy and reliable.
I just installed windows 7 not long ago and thought id try out the new dvd maker, i insterted a full movie (700meg) well its been 30 mins and the encoding is at only 0.2% ??? whats with that?

Nero ued to have almost whole movie encoded by then,

Am i missing something or what? I thought windows 7 was meant to be better..why is a 3rd party dvd software faster than windows own?

Hold on slow down a bit.
Try another DvD and see if you get the same result, could be the disk, could be copy protection. If it is copy protection you can try AnyDVD in the background.

I hate the smell of friggin corn chip butt breath snacks.
Disk is fine they are TDK gold edition i have used them on vista before and were great (with nero 8).
Is there a way to set the speed of encoding or the priority of the eoncoding? or is there no settings for this at all?

Sorry i should clarify - it is the encoding process that is taking ages, not the burning process..definately not the disk. Once it starts burning it is quick fast..
