I looked at Foobar2000. It's looks really cool. I have to try it. BTW, don't waste your time messing with WMP12 it will only make you heave in the toilet. WMP12 isn't my favorite thing either, but you're really exaggerating the situation. You don't like WMP12, that's fine, you've said that. But going on like what I highlighted in my quote here just makes you sound petulant and childish.
Get over it and move on......if you find something you like better, that's great, tell us what you find....but enough with the immature WMP12 bashing. Won't you at least give windows media player 12 a TRY? From your comments, it seems as if you haven't used it yet and simply are judging it from past perspectives. I agree, that windows media player was horrible in the past but they really did windows media player 12 right.

Try to maintain a good mind and fair judgement okay? Was that addressed to me? If so, I suggest you go back and re-read my post more carefully. I made no judgment for or against WMP 12. The OP asked for suggestions for alternatives and I passed along what I use. I did mention that I have yet to start WMP on my recently built rig, but I would hardly call that passing judgment. Since you bring the subject up, I have no motivation to try WMP because I am perfectly happy with my current media playing abilities and nothing I have read about WMP 12 compels me to want to try it. foobar2000 is a solid, robust audio player and VLC has handled everything I have thrown at it without the need for any additional codecs to be installed. I am sticking with what works for me until circumstances dictate otherwise. I think 7 and WMP does a much better job at playing all sorts of media than previous versions. All I have to do most of the time is associate the file with MWP and bAAm... playback; however, for those files that WMP can't do... because it can't or because I haven't installed any extra codec packs yet, Kantaris is amazing... it's VCL on steroids: Kantaris Media Player Free and open-source media player | My System Specs | | OS 7 Ultimate x64 CPU i5-2500k Motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro Memory 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH 1866MHz 8-9-8-24 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 SC Sound Card X-Fi Titanium Fatality Monitor(s) Displays Samsung S27A550H 27" LED Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard MS Natural Elite 4000 Ergonomic Mouse Logitech G500 PSU PC Power & Cooling Silencer 760 Case Lian Li Lancool K62 Cooling Thermalright Venomous X Black/Scythe S-Flex/Shin-Etsu X23 Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 3 120GB.

Nice to see so much activity on my post. But the fact remains that WMP12 has issues for me. Namely, the lack of docking the enhancements on the player. I want my equalizer docked, period end of story. So in essence it still sucks eggs | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 X64 Home Premium CPU Intel Core i5 Socket 1156 Motherboard Asus P7P55D Memory Mushkin Blackline 4Gb 996679 Graphics Card EVGA 9500GT Monitor(s) Displays Dell 1900FP Keyboard IBM KB8923 (the best) Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec 500W Case Cooler Master Hard Drives Western Digital 640Gb Black Caviar Internet Speed 12Gb/sec |

I really think the media center and the media player are some of the reasons people should buy windows 7 Are you crazy not to like being able to stream your collection to a potable device anywhere? or share shows that you tivo if you set a tv up I mean the possibilities are absolutely endless with this media player and for a change they got it right it works without needing a frigging service pack it just works out of the box further its inexpensive in my humble opinion windows 7 and its media possibilities are going to put Microsoft back at the top. | My System Specs | | OS windows 7 CPU intel Q9550 Motherboard Asus P5Q deluxe Memory kingston 8gigs Graphics Card Asus 768mb Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 1080p TV Hard Drives Seagate 1 tb 64 meg buffer and 750 rpm Windows Media Player 12 Sucks Eggs problems?
