    Make WMP update library

Okey, I have ticked the option to add media files to library when playd, but they will not get added. I did add new songs recently and playd them through WMP but in player under Music they will not show up. WMP11 had option to manually update library, but for WMP12 I could not find such setting. Is it moved under some other menu or is it removed at all? I couldn't find it Any suggestions?

Try to drag the music folders into wmp browser window and they should get added.

If that doesn't work try this:

    1. Shutdown windows media player.
    2. Stop the media sharing service. Go to Start->Control Panel->All Control Panel Items->Administrative Tools->Services. Right-click on the “Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service” and select Stop.
    3. Navigate to “c:\Users\”your username”\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player. Now delete the files named CurrentDatabase_***.wmdb and LocalMLS_*.wmdb.
    4. Start the media sharing service.
    5. Now start Windows Media Player and watch it build up your library again.

Kika, if you ever again get the trouble about files not showing in windows media player, go to start menu and type in "troubleshoot" and there, you can find a windows media player troubleshooting pack that allows you to restore your media library, restore your wmp settings, or fix a corrupt library.

If you get a severely damaged library, you can also do this. Start windows media player. Hit ALT. Click on Tools. Click on Advanced. You can then restore your media library.

I just wanted to point this out to you for the future.

New problem now 56 of my artist appear under Unknown, even all the tag info is there at place. If I try to change those files information, I get ID tag invalid error and not able to edit anything. This is just stupid... every day something is happening to my system with normal usage. I'm dual booting with XP and all trouble is always appearing under 7 :-S

Are you using WMP in XP?

Perhaps switching from one to the other is changing the tags in some way ..

That will do it, XP uses different file streams and tags and will corrupt all sorts of things used by 7
