video skips frames when hard drive activity
When playing H264 videos with windows media player classic (or any other player), video skips frames when hard drive activity becomes high like when virus database updates, files being copyed or any other windows process reads data from hard drive. Seems like reading video data from hard drive has lower priority than any other process ergo video does not play smoothly, skips frames. I have tried to set the windows media player process priority to high but that did not help. CPU is not the proble, CPU is about 40% when watching H264 video. Is there a way to prioritize application data reading from hard drive?
My harddrive is SATA 7200 rpm, I have 3Ghz dual core CPU and ATI radeon HD4800 1GB (with latest drivers)
I DID NOT have this problem with Windows XP Pro with the SAME hardware.
